Hello!  I’m Carrie…I’m a mixed media artist.  Welcome to my colorful, fun, creative world. 

 

Color has captivated me since I was little.  I can remember going to the hardware store with the adults and getting “rainbow-itis” in front of the paint chip display.  I was in dreamland with a set of Cra-Pas, the 64-pack of crayons or scented markers—ooh la la.  Then I got busy with life and art was put on the back burner.  But, inevitably, the desire to create began tapping me on the shoulder again.  I used to create for a bit, pack the supplies up and put them back in the closet.  Then, at one point I decided I needed a permanent creative space.

 

Art has become an integral part of who I am.  It’s a method of expressing my true spirit.  It’s a way for me to share my heart.  I’m a dabbler.  I’ve often said I have “art ADD.”  I don’t stay in one place too long, although I do circle back around to my favorite techniques and projects.  You never know what I'll be working on next.  I am an avid art journaler and love making my own journals.  I also love making jewelry, AKA wearable art.  I love fabric collage.  I am fond of vintage items and incorporate those special things in my work.  That’s why I love mixed media, I get to create with all of my favorite things.
